10 Second Club: Weekly Animation Assignment

10 Second Club:

Weekly 10 second character animation assignments with press-mold characters using various props and rigs.  Audio is recommended as a little bit goes a long way towards selling your animation.

Week 01:

Your first 10 Second Club assignment will be to introduce your character as they emerge from an amorphous lump of clay.  To accomplish this you will need to animate your character in reverse. My advice is to keep things simple. Play your performance in reverse, thinking of a simple bit your character can do for the camera before getting sucked into an amorphous blob.

Following Weeks:

New themes, props, and techniques will be assigned on a weekly basis weekly.   While the naming conventions will change the specs will not.  Stay tuned for weekly assignments and have fun with them.  Nothing like having your own little clay character to push around weekly. :-)

Pro Tips:

Use the reverse playback button in Dragonframe to view your work backwards as you animate.

Reverse Movie in Premiere timeline by right mousing on clip and selecting the Speed/Duration option.

Adding audio is optional but recommended as it has a substantial impact on your animated performance. Adding audio will require editing in Adobe Premiere. Follow Set-up, Edit and Export in Premiere for ease of use and to insure against loss of image quality.
